I was born in Sanford, Florida in 1954, the fourth child of Herbert and Catherine Hill. I was raised in Pensacola until age 10, then moved to Sarasota. After eight years of parochial schooling, I attended and graduated from Sarasota Riverview High School in 1972, with high honors. My interests as a youth were the usual sports, baseball and football, but also I played golf and was the Florida State Junior Jaycees Golf Champion in 1971 and represented the State of Florida in the Junior World Jaycees tournament in San Diego, California, that same year. The only remaining significance to all this is that I later named my fourth child, my son, Torrey, after the golf course on which that tournament was played.
MICHAEL ANN WOODARD
ATTORNEY
Mrs. Woodard is an associate with Herbert M. Hill, P.A. She attended the University of Florida and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Spanish. After utilizing her marketing degree at a litigation support firm in Orlando, Mrs. Woodard began law school at Stetson University College of Law. There she became President of the Legal Honor Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi. She also attained the degree of Masters of Business Administration from Stetson University. Since joining the firm ten years ago, Mrs. Woodard has focused her practice in helping disability claimants secure the disability benefits to which they are entitled.
PATRICIA GARNER
PARALEGAL
Patricia has many roles at Herbert M. Hill, P.A., including executive administrative assistant, paralegal, and office manager. She has been with the firm for over 18 years, assisting clients throughout every stage of their Long Term Disability claims. Originally from Illinois, Patricia has called Central Florida home for many years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, graduating with high academic honors. It was there that she discovered her passion for the legal field. Patricia has two children, Dorian and Eliana. Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking, exploring Florida’s natural beauty, and spending time with her family.
DERNICA AMBOISE
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Dernica is an assistant at Herbert M. Hill P.A. and moved to Orlando in 2018 to pursue her college degree. Ms. Amboise is a graduate from the University of Central Florida, where she earned her BA in Political Science and minor in Legal Studies. She intends to become a lawyer in the near future in hopes of helping those in need. She gets her ambitious drive from her Immigrant parents who came to the US from Haiti, just a year after her birth. Her parents’ accomplishments give her the motivation to be the best she can be every day. She also has two sisters and a brother as an amazing support system. Her current hobbies include running, reading and collecting vinyl records.
