One thing we always find startling is the answer we generally receive when we ask our clients how much they expect to receive when and if Social Security Disability is awarded.  We need to have this information to assess the economic value of a client’s Long Term Disability benefits.

Now, we are not primarily intent on the amount of the benefits a client receives.  We are primarily interested in enforcing our clients’ legal entitlement to either Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability benefits.  The reason we look into the precise numbers is that I believe a client needs to be able to budget, including the hoped-for receipt of both Social Security Disability benefits and Long Term Disability benefits.

Generally, at least part of the Social Security Disability Winter Springs benefits are “offset” against Long Term Disability benefits.  It helps us properly evaluate our client’s claim.  The startling answer we receive is that the client does not know even an estimate of the amount of Social Security Disability benefits they might receive.  I do not understand why Social Security Disability Winter Springs attorneys do not know or tell their client this information.  The Social Security Administration usually will send you a circular with your information or you can get the information on the SA website.

Having all of this information allows our office to properly “counsel” you about how your future budget will work.  This will give you the potential peace of mind associated with winning your claim, as we would certainly plan to do!
